Partying is more restful than rest itself

Summary

A straphanger in Paris offers a counterintuitive hot take: partying is more restful than rest itself. His logic? Going to bed early every night becomes mentally exhausting, while being around people with music and dancing provides fulfillment that meditation can't match. He argues that working out is bad for you because it's so tiring, whereas partying lets you chill and actually resets your relationship with routine. Kareem pushes back at first but starts to see the wisdom when the rider explains that a good bender leaves you so wiped that you're motivated to "be a good man" afterward. It's a break from your everyday self. By the end, Kareem's convinced. He's pro-party.

So what's your take? Partying is more restful than rest itself. 100% disagree. So when you're going to bed early every night, isn't that exhausting? No, it is exhausting mentally. Yeah, but physically? Yeah, it's very restful. I think maybe some time to time take a break from your everyday self, having a party. Like, what's the definition of partying for you? I mean, being around people with music. Now is maybe a little something in, in the mouth. Something? No, no, no. I mean, maybe only that, but so we can do what we can't do. No, I'm, I'm L that. I'm less that. But I mean, like, some people do meditation or something. I feel fulfillment around uh, people dancing. Also, like, sometimes you get ideas in the night that you won't be having in the—I'm almost saying the morning actually.

Oh, so you're just pro-nighttime? Yeah, yeah. But also partying at the same time. Like, you know, really exhausting. Working out. Working out? Yeah, working out is bad for you. Running is bad for you. So tired. Exactly. Like, how is that good? Everyone says, "Oh, you have to be healthy, work out." No way, I'm going to go to a party. Yeah, for sure. At least then you're chilling, and then I know I'll be going to bed early and maybe go around to me a better self, 'cause yesterday I was myself up and now I know where I'm going to bed, and it's not going to bed only, only on life and waiting. Waiting on this? Okay, this makes a little bit of sense. I do agree that sometimes when I go on a bender and then you're so tired that you're like, "You know what? I need to be a good man." Exactly, what I'm saying. So maybe partying is good for you. Is restful? Every time in a while, get out of yourself, break your day-to-day routine, and then you go back to it. I think I've been convinced. I'm pro-party. Thanks, man.
