Popcorn is Overrated 🍿

Jan 13, 2024 · 0:44

Summary

Popcorn is overrated, according to a straphanger who'd rather snack on bread and butter at the movies. The problem? It's dry, bland, and gets stuck in your teeth. When people defend popcorn by pointing to butter, that's missing the point. You just like butter. Kareem presses on the logistics: would movie theater bread and butter come in little croutons, or what? The rider envisions slices like you'd get in a bread basket at a restaurant. Picture this: walking into AMC Cinemas and ordering a full bread basket instead of popcorn. It's absurd, sure, but honestly more appealing than another kernel lodged between your molars.

My take is that I don't like popcorn.

Why don't you like popcorn? It's like dry and gets stuck in the teeth, and I think it's so bland. And whenever I bring it up to people that I don't like popcorn, the first response is pretty much like, "Oh, what about the butter?" And it's like, um, well, you just like butter. And I think there's better ways to eat butter, like—like bread. Bread, yeah. And—and I think that, like, if at the movie theater, if they had, like, bread and butter, I think that'd be better.

Would the movie theater bread and butter be, like, little, like croutons essentially? Like, little pieces of bread and butter in a bag? I think it would be like, not slice of toast, but, like, slices, like you get in a bread basket at a restaurant.

Wait, you want to go to the AMC Cinemas and order a bread basket? Yeah.
