Dogs shouldn't be cops

May 8, 2026 · 2:03

Summary

The guest argues dogs shouldn't be cops because they can't consent to working with "the oppressor" and don't get paid. The conversation spirals into whether animals should work at all, with agreement that dogs could be influencers instead. Best bit: they decide Golden Retrievers can save lives but shouldn't be narcs at TSA. Let dogs smuggle for drug lords, apparently.

So, what's your take? Dogs shouldn't be cops.

100% agreed. Yeah. Dogs should not be cops. A cab. Yeah. A cab. You know, all canines are baby, but they should not be involved with the oppressor. They cannot consent.

Well, I guess they just want a job. No, they don't. That's us. That's us putting on that. They're not getting paid.

They are getting paid. And what, John? Do cop dogs get paid?

How much are you handling? The handle. Okay. So, what is that about?

They got to pay the dogs. Absolutely. I mean, I just feel like we shouldn't be giving animals jobs at all. Like, if my house is on fire, I don't want to see a Dalmatian running into the flames. I do.

Why? That Dalmatian is what saves the human.

I mean, I guess my feeling is like, look, like, let dogs be ducks.

So, you think no animal should work. I don't.

I just think no— I'm with you. I'm, I'm actually, I don't. I don't know what I don't know why what got to me?

I mean, I don't want to work. Why does—why does an animal have to work? Especially for no pay.

That's the thing that gets me. It's like I'm already not getting paid enough. My dog is now employed and he's bringing home nothing. He could be an influencer. Dogs can be influencers and that's the end of it.

So, do you think that a dog could be an influencer though? That's okay. I think so. I think he cultivates an audience and creates community.

Do you have a dog? I do. Do you want to see him?

No. Is he working?

He could work harder. Oh, he's very cute.

But he's also very free and I respect that. No, wait till I get my hands on him. I'm starting a talent agency for dogs just to get them jobs. Like, I'm a manager of dogs. Are you getting them paid?

Of course I'm getting paid, too. See, that's the thing. As long as we're all getting paid. I just see too many dogs that I'm like, "Why are you at the airport? I don't want to be at TSA."

That's right. You're at TSA just looking for drugs. Being a narc.

Yeah, being a narc. I think dogs should work if they're not narcs.

I don't know. I mean, maybe if that's their passion, but like, are we even asking? I'm sure a Golden Retriever wants to save someone. That feels good. That's a good feeling. I'm sure a—a Golden Retriever does not want to rat out a guy smuggling coke into America.

Exactly. Let them smuggle the coke.

Let the dogs smuggle. Right. They can work for drug lords. That's it.
